So the Dodgers are in "serious talks" to sign free agent outfielder Bobby Abreu, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports (twitter).
Interesting idea. I was thinking today that one piece that the Dodgers are missing is that Jason Giambi walk-off threat. Abreu might not be Giambi or Jim Thome, but he's certainly better than what they've got right now off of the bench. If he can play the role of 5th outfielder, and spell the release of Adam Kennedy in the process, then grabbing Abreu for the pro-rated minimum salary makes sense.
