The Rumor Mill

Here's a rundown of the rumors swirling around Dodgertown in recent days...

• Clubs that have spoken with the Dodgers report that they're looking for a starting pitcher, a left-handed reliever and a bat. So they'll be busy once the selling/buying season begins. Their problem is, we haven't heard much enthusiasm over the prospects they have to deal. But they have the go-ahead to take on money. And, as one NL exec quipped, "money IS a prospect." - Jayson Stark 

• The Dodgers are aggressively pursuing Jorge Soler, according to Buster Olney. The 20-year old Cuban outfielder has been linked to half a dozen teams and he is expected to sign in the next 24 hours.  

• Club president Stan Kasten tweeted that he expects Andre Ethier will be a Dodger for a very long time, and Nez Balelo, Ethier's agent, is in Seattle this weekend. So, too, is Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti.  Said Ethier, "I expect to be here a long time, and both sides have expressed that. They want me here and I want to be here. Mutually, both sides want me here. Obviously, this is a good fit. It's where I want to be and a great opportunity to play with these guys who have put a lot of hard work in, and I hope we continue what we're doing right now." - Ken Gurnick
